Fernando Vélez: science, education and outreach
Fernando Vélez is an engineer with a Master’s degree in Astrophysics and Astronomy. He is currently certified by the Starlight Foundation as Ambassador of the 2026 Eclipse in Spain, a recognition awarded to professionals committed to scientific dissemination and sustainable astro-tourism. He is also a Starlight Astronomy Monitor, an accreditation that guarantees safe, rigorous observation activities adapted to all audiences.
With extensive experience in deep sky astrophotography and night landscape photography, Fernando combines scientific knowledge and visual talent to bring astronomy closer to children, adults, educational centres and public entities.
